Alma had her pups today, starting at 2 am. She didn't need any help, and ate the placentas and chewed the cords like an old pro. Like we expected, she is being a very good mom. A couple of te pups are very small and not moving well and are not likely to make it.

All the pups are brown, so it may be that Alma will only have brown puppies.

Aran is keeping watch outside the door, and the puppies cries are getting grandmother Kaca very excited.

Wednesday 13 Feb

The surviving six pups are doing very well -- they are very strong and feeding well with glossy coats and big round bellies.

Saturday 16 Feb

We weighed the pups, and they are all growing well. Some have more than doubled in weight in a week. Some early pics are below. They are still little brown blobs. Very CUTE little brown blobs, but brown blobs nonetheless.

Pups will be 4 weeks old this coming Saturday (8 March).

The pups are strong and sleek and growing really well. We have moved them into the outside box and pen so they can get out and do their business out of the box.
